About Us

Welcome from the Headteacher

At Griffe Field Primary School we aim to develop successful, fulfilled young people, well skilled, with enquiring minds and positive, responsible attitudes. The children themselves told us that they wanted a school that is friendly, fair, interesting, safe, polite, caring and hard working. We work with them to achieve that.

Thank you for taking the time to visit our website as it introduces you to Griffe Field Primary School, part of the Derby Diocesan Multi Academy Trust.

Our aim is to provide a child with the opportunity to achieve, to do so in partnership with his/her family and to make sure that there is a good reason for the children, their families and the community to be proud of Griffe Field Primary School.

The school is a very happy place with a strong team ethic which includes strong support from governors and the community. Everyone in the school aims to do their best for your child and your involvement plays an important part.

We are a thriving community of over 450 children, aged between 4 and 11, plus a 26 place Nursery.

Close partnership between home and school is a recipe for a child’s success and this website is just one link in this important relationship. Our strong supportive culture is due to the real sense of partnership between home and school.

From their very first school experience, our children benefit from a highly dedicated team of teachers, support staff and governors who strive tirelessly to provide a caring and supportive environment which enables all our pupils to flourish. As Headteacher am extremely proud to lead a team committed to achieving high standards and providing the very best opportunities for the children in our care. We very much believe that happy learners make successful learners. Every child is special, and we celebrate their unique strengths and abilities.
